Event Recap: Blankets & Wine – November 2010

This past Sunday was the 2nd anniversary of East Africa’s favorite monthly music experience, Blankets & Wine. I can’t begin to properly express how great of a show it was. The line-up in and of itself was quite amazing: the lovely and talented Dela, Atemi, Eric Wainaina and a surprise special guest in Kidum.

There were a few delays due to a few technical difficulties, but once everything kicked off (and the wine began flowing) it was nothing short of magical.

Each time I go for one of these, the crowd seems to grow exponentially, and this was no exception. There were tons of great giveaways in between performances courtesy of the event sponsors and vendors ranging from booze and t-shirts to iPhones and Holiday Retreats.

Although this was supposed to be the last B&W of the year, there will be a special edition at St. Mary’s in December. Even with this knowledge, as darkness set in, it seemed nobody was ready to see it all end. Eric Wainaina entertained us until the very last minute, as the other artists mingled in the crowd making it an unforgettable afternoon and kicking off what I was told was an epic night at the after-party.

All in all, quite the event.

Check out the pictures from the performances here.

Like the page while you’re on there, btw. Cheers
