While working on the concept for a magazine concept with
this guy, we began to have a little argument about children.
I had suggested an image of a cute kid (above) and he immediately told me that that kid was “too cute to be Kenyan”. So we got into a little discussion about what Kenyan children really look like.
This inevitably became a question that was too difficult for our meagre minds. So we turned to the all knowing, all savvy, Google images. This is what we found:
Fairly accurate. But someone immediately pointed out that they wondered how accurate this would be for other countries/regions. Below are the findings from our exercise.
I pity anyone who is designing a website for a politician.
Actually I pity anyone designing anything on the internet at all this year because the team behind Mike Sonko just put a wrap and a bow on anything web related for 2013.
IT’S A WRAP. BOW DOWN.
Ladies and gentlemen, I am aware it is January, but I doubt it will get any better than this, this year. The award for website of the year goes to Sonko.co.ke.
3 words to describe this feat of technical mastery: So. Much. Swag.
There’s this brilliant new Kenyan ad that’s been on air for a little over a week now that’s making waves.
Sorry. Wrong ad.
I meant this one.
Now I know what you’re thinking. “Evian did the baby thing like 3 years ago, and it went viral and was widely recognized: why would a Kenyan agency copy them so blatantly?”
Stop thinking that. Nobody copied anyone, OK? This is an innovative idea from the finest Kenyan agency out there.
Now, if you’re on Twitter, you’ve probably seen most of these ‘spoof ads’ I put out there randomly during the day. But a lot of our readers are not are not online when the ads go up or are anti-social networking(read: cavemen).
So I’ve compiled them here and added one or two. Also because I’ve noted some of you are appropriating these to yourselves. Naughty, naughty. Behave, children.
Anyhow, enjoy and have a good weekend.
